And it was all yellow. . .

So much has happened since we last spoke. Come on up and sit by poppa's knee at the fire and we'll delve into the latest news and events.

With some help from our good friend Chad, our professional handyman, we removed the gross sunflower border and painted the nursery. It was in-your-face-electric yellow and now its a nicer, soothing margarita yellow. That's just the name although we do like the drink. Hold the salt.

In addition to that, Kim's mother came down and between her, Kim and Marc's mom they produced the Wendy Bellissimo "Starlight" 5-piece crib and valance set for less than 1/4 the price. They also created a pillow and dust ruffle in the same color and style. For the real thing, see www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2407337 and for the cool work they did, see below:

In addition to this fun, we've also been battling a nasty leak that eventually was found to be coming from the master bathroom shower drain. The best part was that it required opening up the garage ceiling and ductwork to get to it. Thanks again to Chad for the great work in getting it all put back together. Once we finish the basement bathroom and office we will go ahead with completing sealing the ceiling.

In addition, there's really no easy way to say this. Kim has crabs. Only two of them, and she named them, but she does have them. And she's been showing them off to her class and other teachers. Now we would like to show them to you:

Kim's class welcomed two new pet hermit crabs: Lighting and Big Red. Lightning is extremely fast, especially when out of his "crabitat" and Big Red is. . big. . and red. Nice. The kids love the new creatures and they are a welcome addition to the class routine:

Today we will be taking a free, online course in preparation for our meeting with Christian Family Services this Friday. Also, a baby shower is being planned by Kim's friend Dianne and Marc's mom, Delene, for next month and we're hoping it will be a good time. Everyone seems to be excited as the preparations continue to be made. Marc is working with the creative department at the agency he works for to have original invitations created for the event and of course it will feature Dianne's amazing cake!

The weather is changing and we're excited about spring and summer coming! We'll have more news for you soon. Thank you so much for continuing to visit our blog and for the support.
