Little Halloweenie

Well, Jakob managed well on his first trick-or-treating crusade with mom and dad yesterday. Granted, he slept through most of it and really only yielded two small fun size candy bars, but still, baby steps for the little guy, right?

After much debate and consideration, Marc received a great idea from one of his coworkers on what to dress Jakob as this year. In addition to wearing his "Little Devil" orange outfit, we swaddled him in his own version of tin foil to complete his costume as. . . a Chipotle burrito.

We made it to quite a few houses of our friends in Liberty and Marc's parents in Kearney. Jakob ended his first Halloween night getting a ghoulish bath in the scary tub. Okay, so it's not that bad, but we had to make bath time seem interesting on this occasion.

This evening, like many evenings before, Jakob fell asleep in our arms and began to do one of the things he does best. . . call geese. Don't believe us? Check out:

It's short, but definitely worth it. Kid's a natural born hunter.

Tomorrow night is our small group's costume party and we'll have photos of that soon. We're pretty excited that November is here and soon it will be time for Thanksgiving with Marc's side of the family.

Next week we have an appointment to meet at our adoption agency to give Jakob's birth mother a chance to see how well Jakob is adjusting to his new life with us. We hope it proves to be very uplifting for all of us.

More soon.
