Our Independence and now . . . Aloha. . .

We had a blast over the 4th of July weekend. Saturday, Marc got to go with some friends from church to a Kansas City mission to help families who are less fortunate receive groceries donated by local churches and companies. What an awesome time seeing others get the help they need. The next day we went to see "Superman Returns" and "The Devil Wears Prada." Both great, with "Superman Returns" being the best movie we've seen this year ("X3: The Last Stand" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" being a close second).

Monday, we spent some time with our friends Joel and Cerise and their kids going to a great barbeque restaurant in Excelsior Springs, MO, The Wabash. If you're ever passing through town, check it out. You'll be glad you did.

Tuesday, Independence Day, we went to my parents' neighbor's house for the annual pool party joined by some friends. What a great time, and no one lost any limbs.

We sprinkled in some house work each day as well trying to help things take shape. In the mean time, with Kim done with summer school, she continues to get the house in order and painted the hall bathroom a killer shade of red. Her TLC home improvement show watching coupled with her great fashion and decorating sense are sure paying off.

Well, this week we leave for Hawaii and while Kim is more than excited to go, Marc can't help but be nervous
about all the work things that happen prior to the "vacation" portion of the trip to Honolulu. While we're there Kim will be heading to the Dole pineapple factory and plenty of the beach with Marc's parents while Marc is "slaving" away working.

After that we'll spend a couple of days doing other things like going to an evening luau, swimming in the ocean with sharks, parasailing and heading to see Pearl Harbor. We hope to have a ton of pictures to show you when we return.

God continues to bless us. Please be in prayer for a safe trip to and from as well as things to go well with Marc's work events.

More soon. . .
