Wow, you're not going to believe this. . .
This has been quite a weekend. First, the unthinkable happened: the NFC won the Pro Bowl. What's up with that?
More importantly though, God has once again been faithful to us despite our feelings of gloom and doom. As many of you know, Marc has been driving the same car since leaving college and it is pretty much on its last leg. With all of the adoption planning, getting him a new car hasn't exactly been top of mind. When the news came down a few weeks ago that the transmission was shot and it would now be dying a slow death, we started praying that God would help us figure out how to make it work. Keep that in mind. . .
Friday, Kim got a card in the mail addressed to Jakob from the Missouri Healthnet Department of Social Services. The letter states "We are sending you this card because the individual named on the card has recently been approved for MO HealthNet coverage." After doing some research, we found that the third and final subsidy we had applied for, the total longshot through the state of Missouri, came through. Jakob now has supplimental insurance and we will begin receiving checks to go toward this living, daycare and agency/legal expenses. We're not sure how much he will receive, but we couldn't be happier to know God has once again provided.
Saturday, our good friend completed our tax return and informed us of the amount of refund we would be receiving. To our shock, it is enough to pay off Kim's car, put a small downpayment on a car for Marc and still have enough left over for tax/title. God provided again for us when we didn't know what we were going to do.
Needless to say, this is huge news! Tomorrow night we will be attending our church's Night of Worship and we've definitely got a lot to be thankful for. This week is also Valentine's Day and while we're not doing it up as big as we have in year's past, we've got extra love to share with our little boy. We're not sure if dressing him in a cupid outfit is the right choice for his 6-month photos on Friday. We'll just have to wait and see. . .
As you know, our camera was stolen last month, and we're working on getting a new one that takes video so we can show you more of Jakob's personality. He's begun to spit when he eats and drinks formula. We couldn't be more proud. . . or soaked.
More soon.
